Highlands 2nd Annual Fly Fishing Tournament!
Open to Men and Women of all Skill Levels
Teams will fish one native, one hatchery supported and one delayed-harvest stream. More than 2,200 miles of public water will be available to fish during the tournament.

Casting Clinics, Harris Lake
9am - 12pm: Ladies' casting clinic with Joan Cabe. Open casting clinic with local guides.
9am - 12pm: One on One Coaching for Tournament participants with NC Fly Fishing Team.
Equipment Tune Up, Highland Hiker Cabin Deck
12pm - 4pm
Casting Competition, Pine St. Park
1pm - 4pm: NC Fly Fishing Team.
Fly Tying Clinic, Lobby at Old Edwards Inn
5pm - 6:30pm: Tying the Jack Cabe Hopper with Bill Clary
Rules and Regulations
- Catch and release only tournament
- Artificial flies used only
- All team members must have valid fishing licenses and trout stamps for streams being fished in each state
- Team must be checked out anytime after 7:30 a.m.
- Team must be checked back in by 6 p.m.
- Team members must adhere to honor code on quantity and length of fish caught
- All teams are encouraged to digitally photograph catches
- Photos will be collected at the end of each day
- Teams must fish within the designated tournament boundary
Boundaries
From Highlands the fishing boundary will have a northern boundary of US Hwy. 74, a western boundary of the rafting and delayed harvest sections of the Nantahala River, a southern boundary of the Hwy. 28 bridge on the Chattooga River and an eastern boundary of the Davidson River and the East Fork of the French Broad River.
A map designating all streams within this boundary will be provided to each applicant.
